Welcome to Gallery Smoore. I have created this site to share the work I have done over the past twenty seven years of painting . Some of these pictures are for sale in galleries and some have been sold or donated for auction to raise money for charities. It should indicate on the main page for viewing the painting which paintings are for sale in a gallery, which gallery, and how to get in touch with the gallery if you are interested in the painting. As you can see, although I am a practicing family physician, I have also had a second career as an artist. These are not all the paintings that I have done, but a selection of some. It is my hope that you will enjoy seeing them 'all at once' as much as I have enjoyed assessing my work over time and putting this site together. Stephen Moore is a Raleigh artist known for the color and light quality in his paintings. He was taught by Eleanor Seng and has been painting about twenty years. He has traveled and painted extensively in Europe. Painting interests also include coastal and other North Carolina scenes with an emphasis on local color. Though primarily a landscape painter schooled in plein air techniques, he is also interested in portrait, figurative, and still-life genres. His work is held in private and corporate collections around the world . Current gallery associations include Art Source in Raleigh, Carteret Contemporary Art Gallery in Morehead City, NC.
